Goodbye to Gather Food and Beverage

The Team at Gather food & beverage has decided it’s time to say “it’s been a slice”, and permanently close the restaurant effective Saturday, October 11th.

Year two was not what we expected in terms of visitors and staffing levels. Some of our regulars became irregular (we missed you), and losing key staff due to moving and schooling (we miss you too!) made it difficult to maintain operating hours and the level of service we established from the beginning. After an unsuccessful six-month search for reliable and effective staff, we have decided to throw in the towel.

We are still interested in supporting locally grown organic foods, and would be interested in talking to anyone who may be keen on starting up their own establishment within our humble walls (or suggesting another adventure for us to partner in that uses our current assets). We will maintain our equipment for the next 6 months, in case we have any interest. After that period of time we will consider selling the restaurant equipment to interested parties.

In the meanwhile, we would like to invite you to a last hurrah. If you are reading this, chances are you’ve been a dedicated follower of Gather, and we would like to thank you once more for embracing us and keeping smiles on our faces since our inception. On Saturday, October 11th we are having an open house, between 6 and 8 pm. We will be serving up some of our favorite multi-culti mash-ups by donation, with 20% of proceeds going to the BC Schizophrenia Society and 20% to the Cowichan Intercultural Society. We will have a range of beverages and desserts for purchase. We hope you will come and share some memories with us that evening.

Changes at Gather

Greetings to all of our gather family (everyone), today we bring you a great announcement!

As of Thursday, July 31st we will be undergoing a grand re-theme of everyone's favorite organic restaurant. We are changing some features and keeping some favorites, while introducing new, fun activities.

We will be changing our hours to open at noon Thursdays to Saturdays. Keeping with our Sunday hours, we will be opening at 10 am and still offer the classic brunch menu you have come to love.



Our evening menu will be getting a large re-write to include some of our favorite dishes like our very popular Multi-Culti Mash Ups, but with a larger emphasis on burgers, wraps, sandwiches, and omelettes for you day long brunch'ers. We will also be shifting our focus towards celebrating our organic ice-creams, house made sodas, and our delicious assorted coffee beverages.



Some of the events and features we will be offering include:

Our famous Saturday Date Night (featuring the most popular items from the original menu);

In September, introducing a Student Discount;

Year round Games Nights featuring drink specials;

Burger & Beer features;

Family Thanksgiving Dinner (back by popular demand);

Children's Birthday Parties; and

Murder Mysteries Event Nights.



We will also be creating a Fireside Lounge with big, comfy couches and a casual place to gather with friends over drinks and desserts. Perhaps the biggest change will be the addition of a few new faces to Gather family.



We are very excited for these changes and can't wait for you to see it!

Attention all Dads, Gather Food and Beverage is pleased to be putting on a special Fathers Day dinner. We are excited to offer the Ultimate Fathers Plate Special featuring 2 Epic sized beef skewers, house made coleslaw, our famous cheddar bean bake, and a baked potato loaded to the brim with sour cream, crumbled bacon, chives (fresh from the garden!).

Not only do you get all that but we are piling on to it with a Vancouver Island Brewery beer of your choice and slice of peanut-butter, chocolate, banana cream pie.

Subaru Triathlon Pasta Night

In honour of the triathletes coming to Shawnigan Lake this weekend we are pleased to offer Pasta Night on Saturday! We are offering a full pasta plate with house made fresh pasta and sauces with your choice of protein.

Our sauces are all made in house from scratch by our chef, the delicious options are Tomato, Alfredo, Rose, or Olive Oil with Roasted Tomatoes and Basil.

They also come with a topping of your choice including Pacific White Prawns, Local Quist Farms Chicken, or House Made Italian Meatballs.

Spring is here! Season Opener

April 11th is our 2014 season opener. All reservations on the 11th, 12th, and 13th will receive a gift that is both illuminating and delicious. 

We are also accepting reservations for Easter Brunch, Mother's Day and Father's Day.

We were hoping to spend Valentine's Day with you, but we have decided to open seasonally. We expect to be open before Easter, so in the meantime we wish you a happy Family Day and a happy Valentine's Day.
